LINIA
The main character of "LINE," 84-year-old Mrs. Krystyna, is a mathematician and teacher. She is a person sensitive to art, constantly searching and eager to discover. Krystyna has stroke-induced aphasia—a language disorder that impairs the process of translating thoughts into words, resulting in disordered communication. However, the same process of translating thoughts, feelings, and sensations into movement remains fluid. Krystyna’s communication through movement is uninterrupted, clear, and precise. Paradoxically, it becomes an extremely eloquent language in itself—a dance.
Krystyna’s movements in "LINE" were inspired by the famous choreographic passage by Pina Bausch: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter from Nelken (1982).
